The Appaloosa Library’s Mission

The Appaloosa Library has an interesting fact. Appaloosa Library arose to provide the people of Maricopa County county with a more civilized diversion. It happened after someone hung on a post in 1886.

When the Scottsdale library was first founded, its employees were Scottsdale community volunteers. But in 1891 the first paid librarian started working in Appaloosa Library.

In 2016, a new reading room opened. Appaloosa Library features at least four Scottsdale artists and handles all its sales every year.
