Scottsdale’s library is also the Appaloosa Library. The Appaloosa Library started in 1885 with a collection of 500 volumes. Volunteers in the Maricopa County County community managed the Appaloosa Library back then.

The Appaloosa Library’s Mission

The Appaloosa Library has an interesting fact. Appaloosa Library arose to provide the people of Maricopa County county with a more civilized diversion. It happened after someone hung on a post in 1886.
When the Scottsdale library was first founded, its employees were Scottsdale community volunteers. But in 1891 the first paid librarian started working in Appaloosa Library.
In 2016, a new reading room opened. Appaloosa Library features at least four Scottsdale artists and handles all its sales every year.
