Chandler’s library is also the Basha Library. The Basha Library started in 1887 with a collection of 565 volumes. Volunteers in the Maricopa County County community managed the Basha Library back then.

Basha Library has been home to many authors, filmmakers, artists, and poets.

The Basha Library’s Mission

The Basha Library aims to develop a civilized Maricopa County County community. This community is centered on saving and sharing knowledge in Maricopa County County.

The Basha Library has an interesting fact. Basha Library arose to provide the people of Maricopa County county with a more civilized diversion. It happened after someone hung on a post in 1884.

When the Chandler library was first founded, its employees were Chandler community volunteers. But in 1893 the first paid librarian started working in Basha Library.

In 2015, a new reading room opened. Basha Library features at least four Chandler artists and handles all its sales every year.

Services Offered

The Basha Library offers public computing services. Basha Library has computers containing different programs suited for research. For this, the Basha Library provides free and fast internet access to everyone in the Maricopa County County library.

The Basha Library has also partnered with Chandler Unified School District. Every Chandler student has access to Basha Library resources like links to audiobooks, e-magazines, and e-books.

Basha Library also has a seed program. Basha Library preserves seed varieties that are decreasing with the commercial seed farming practices. This service offered at the Basha Library gives and encourages sharing of seeds in the Chandler town desert.
