Scottsdale’s library is also the Mustang Library. The Mustang Library started in 1887 with a collection of 508 volumes. Volunteers in the Maricopa County County community managed the Mustang Library back then.

The Mustang Library’s Mission

The Mustang Library aims to develop a civilized Maricopa County County community. This community is centered on saving and sharing knowledge in Maricopa County County.

The Mustang Library has an interesting fact. Mustang Library arose to provide the people of Maricopa County county with a more civilized diversion. It happened after someone hung on a post in 1880.

When the Scottsdale library was first founded, its employees were Scottsdale community volunteers. But in 1894 the first paid librarian started working in Mustang Library.

In 2015, a new reading room opened. Mustang Library features at least four Scottsdale artists and handles all its sales every year.

Services Offered

The Mustang Library offers public computing services. Mustang Library has computers containing different programs suited for research. For this, the Mustang Library provides free and fast internet access to everyone in the Maricopa County County library.

The Mustang Library has also partnered with Scottsdale Unified School District. Every Scottsdale student has access to Mustang Library resources like links to audiobooks, e-magazines, and e-books.

Mustang Library also has a seed program. Mustang Library preserves seed varieties that are decreasing with the commercial seed farming practices. This service offered at the Mustang Library gives and encourages sharing of seeds in the Scottsdale town desert.
