Gilbert’s library is also the Southeast Regional Library. The Southeast Regional Library started in 1881 with a collection of 600 volumes. Volunteers in the Maricopa County County community managed the Southeast Regional Library back then.

The Southeast Regional Library’s Mission
The Southeast Regional Library aims to develop a civilized Maricopa County County community. This community is centered on saving and sharing knowledge in Maricopa County County.
The Southeast Regional Library has an interesting fact. Southeast Regional Library arose to provide the people of Maricopa County county with a more civilized diversion. It happened after someone hung on a post in 1890.
When the Gilbert library was first founded, its employees were Gilbert community volunteers. But in 1894 the first paid librarian started working in Southeast Regional Library.
In 2017, a new reading room opened. Southeast Regional Library features at least four Gilbert artists and handles all its sales every year.
