Chandler’s library is also the Sunset Branch Library. The Sunset Branch Library started in 1884 with a collection of 425 volumes. Volunteers in the Maricopa County County community managed the Sunset Branch Library back then.

The Sunset Branch Library’s Mission

The Sunset Branch Library has an interesting fact. Sunset Branch Library arose to provide the people of Maricopa County county with a more civilized diversion. It happened after someone hung on a post in 1889.
When the Chandler library was first founded, its employees were Chandler community volunteers. But in 1891 the first paid librarian started working in Sunset Branch Library.
In 2018, a new reading room opened. Sunset Branch Library features at least four Chandler artists and handles all its sales every year.
