Chandler’s library is also the Sunset Library. The Sunset Library started in 1883 with a collection of 364 volumes. Volunteers in the Maricopa County County community managed the Sunset Library back then.
Sunset Library has been home to many authors, filmmakers, artists, and poets.

The Sunset Library’s Mission
The Sunset Library aims to develop a civilized Maricopa County County community. This community is centered on saving and sharing knowledge in Maricopa County County.
The Sunset Library has an interesting fact. Sunset Library arose to provide the people of Maricopa County county with a more civilized diversion. It happened after someone hung on a post in 1890.
When the Chandler library was first founded, its employees were Chandler community volunteers. But in 1891 the first paid librarian started working in Sunset Library.
In 2018, a new reading room opened. Sunset Library features at least four Chandler artists and handles all its sales every year.
Services Offered
The Sunset Library offers public computing services. Sunset Library has computers containing different programs suited for research. For this, the Sunset Library provides free and fast internet access to everyone in the Maricopa County County library.
The Sunset Library has also partnered with Chandler Unified School District. Every Chandler student has access to Sunset Library resources like links to audiobooks, e-magazines, and e-books.

Sunset Library also has a seed program. Sunset Library preserves seed varieties that are decreasing with the commercial seed farming practices. This service offered at the Sunset Library gives and encourages sharing of seeds in the Chandler town desert.
