The Challenger Space Center is where the history of Maricopa County is researched and preserved. The Historical Society of Maricopa County County, established by the Maricopa County county government in 1959, is in charge of the Challenger Space Center operations.

Challenger Space Center management staff includes: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

The Challenger Space Center is located in Peoria on 21170 North 83rd Avenue, Peoria, Arizona, 85382. Challenger Space Center operates between Monday and Friday from 10 am to 4 pm. Challenger Space Center is also open on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. However, Challenger Space Center is closed during public holidays.
