The Amvets is a non-medical community-based center in Tucson that offers counseling services for service members, veterans, and their families. You do not have to be under the Veterans Administration care to receive assistance from the Amvets.

Visitation

The Amvets offers its services through physical engagement, video, or phone voice calls.

The Amvets operates Monday to Thursday from eight to four-thirty o’clock; however, Amvets runs from eight to four o’clock on Friday.

Also, a call to Amvets is available throughout if you urgently need help after working hours. You can reach the call center at 520-883-6304.

You will need to produce at least one of the following documents for your first visit to Amvets:

  • Deployment orders
  • Discharge documents
  • Proof of awards
  • Or any other documents showing military service

If you are unsure if you qualify to visit the Amvets, call them for further clarification. If Amvets cannot help, they will give you a referral.

You will produce contact and general information about yourself during the initial contact at Amvets. A Amvets counselor will take you through an evaluation to determine the safety of yourself and those around you. Then you will be given an appointment. Your counselor will schedule subsequent appointments at Amvets.

Confidentiality Policy

The Amvets upholds a full confidentiality policy. However, in the case of a life and death situation, the Amvets may share your details with other authorities.
